RusHydro says to shut down 1.6GW of capacity on Far East by ‘27

MOSCOW, Feb 28 (PRIME) -- Hydropower company RusHydro plans to shut down 1.6 gigawatts (GW) of capacity in Russia’s Far East, replacing it with 1.3 GW of capacity under a 1.9 trillion ruble all-Russian program of thermal power plant upgrade, the company said in a statement late on Wednesday.

The projects chosen for the program, that is to run until 2031, are guaranteed an at least 14% margins adjusted for OFZ state bond yield. The Far Eastern projects for the program will be chosen by the government.
